Parents and participation
A preschool can not develop without the involvement of parents, the preschool is based on the existence of a combination. We want to see cohesion as a basic concept. We need each other's knowledge, skills, history and future.

The parents are part of preschool and their participation begins before the child has begun.
As parents know that there is a place in preschool
then a relationship begins lasting several years.

Preschool is a place for the whole family, that is, even siblings and relatives should feel attached and experience their part in preschool's identity. We are discussing at an early stage with the parents what a preschool is for something, their image and our spring Image must be able to meet.

For us, Gläntan is a place for development, learning and research, and it is based on our different cultures and democratic talks. It is also a place of listening - an active listening that welcomes differences. This applies not only to the children but also to parents and educators. We grow and develop in interaction with each other and through listening and dialogue.

During the fiscal year we have parents meetings, development talks and in-class interviews for new children and parents. At the parent meetings we have information about the activities and parents can make their own suggestions. We let the parents work with the materials the children work with, clay, paint, glitter, beads, paper and stickers. We can present a video about children's everyday life at Gläntan, listen to bands where the children sing or a project we have worked with.

Every year, a celebration and exhibition of children's project work, which we call Gläntan Dagen, will be finished, when everyone is welcome to come and grill and hang out. Every family takes what they want to eat and drink.

Because we live in a multicultural society and that at Gläntan we have children and parents with immigrant background, we organize an international dinner every year where each family brings a dish from their home country and invites the rest.

As a parent you are entitled to participate in your child's development and learning at preschool.
